Final Moments

The last moments is on.

Driver Situation

An advantage in Verstappen's favour: his fellow driver Tsunoda is in front of him by one place. It's improbable to mess with the team's main man.

Media Conversations

Sky interviewing Sky currently: Gary Neville is with Mercedes.

Karun Chandhok is looking forward to the 2026 season, speaking with the engineer about his stepping up to the team lead role.

Starting Positions

Just sixteen vehicles on the grid. It was another poor grid-setting session for Lewis Hamilton: following his result of 20th and last in Las Vegas, resulting in an eighth-place finish in the main race, he did not manage to make it out of the first qualifying segment again on Friday. The team have as a result adjusted to his setup and so he will start from the starting area.

The team's Lance Stroll and the Alpine duo of Pierre Gasly and Colapinto are all doing likewise.

Driver Comments

"We'll use the experience for tomorrow," says Hadjar, 11th on the grid. There will be a lot of that.

Constructors' Championship

It's not all about the individual championship: The team have run away with the constructors' gong but the team, with a 40-point lead over Red Bull, are aiming to seal second place during this event. George Russell can help them achieve that from the front row, and Kimi Antonelli will begin immediately after Verstappen.

Previous Results

Oscar Piastri was victorious then – as he managed last year, too. McLaren's Australian is attempting a hat-trick.

Sprint Race Value

Alright, just over twenty minutes to go till the sprint race begins. Barring disaster, it's greatest value is as an indication of future events, rather than significant in its own right, with just eight championship points awarded to the victor. However, second place here was enough for the driver to become champion in a prior season.
