European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe such as the French president charged the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, following the travel bans targeted individuals who have been central to campaigns to introduce legislation regulating American tech companies.
“For far too long, European activists have led organised efforts to coerce US companies to suppress US perspectives they oppose,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “The current administration will no longer tolerate such actions of censorship beyond its borders.”
